Director, Advocacy
As a POOLHOUSE Director, you’ll play a lead role in supporting our advocacy team in our never-ending quest to deliver high-quality campaigns and assets to our clients. The position includes managing the day-to-day client needs and contributing to the development of effective strategies, all while collaborating with a high-performing team of creatives, designers, strategists, and producers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Partner with the VP of Advocacy to scope, define, estimate, and manage projects and timelines for advocacy clients.
- Oversee client programs from conception to completion by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadlines are met both internally and externally.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by serving as a day-to-day point of contact and ensuring clear, proactive, and polished communication.
- Manage your own workflow according to set procedures and timelines including juggling multiple projects simultaneously and understanding project priorities in the context of agency and client expectations.
- Manage and participate in internal feedback and quality control for all deliverables.
- Draft clear, actionable briefs for both internal and external audiences.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience
- Familiarity with digital advocacy tools, platforms, and campaign workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn new things and new ways of doing things
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining order
- Ability to adapt to new situations and solve problems on the fly with a team
- A shared passion and curiosity for making change and a commitment to quality that ensures we’re always making progress
- Excellent attention to detail
- Willingness to work extended hours, occasional weekends, and travel when necessary
- Position is based in Washington, DC; applicants must be willing and able to fulfill the role in person.

The salary range for this role is $130,000–$150,000 annually, based on industry standards. This range is a good-faith estimate, and final compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and level of hire.
